Dine out in the Boyne Valley- Monasterboice Inn
We are really excited about the reopening of Restaurants, Cafes & Hotels at the end of this month! One of these is the very popular Monasterboice Inn owned by the Donegan Family for over 200 years, where you will always find a warm welcome and some delicious food!
Located just outside the town of Drogheda, right in the centre of the ancient Boyne Valley Monasterboice Inn is steeped in history, being only 5 minutes away from Monasterboice monastic site, including the world famous Muiredocks Cross.
Today, the Monasterboice Inn has retained much of the character of the past but with all the comforts of modern living; guests can enjoy a drink in their warm and inviting bar area or move into the comfort and elegance of their spacious dining rooms. In the Sarsfield Room the original features have been carefully restored and a touch of modern elegance has been added making it a perfect room for intimate gatherings or business events. In the main lounge, around the old-fashioned fires, people can gather for a quiet chat, and drink, or be served a tasty meal at the counter or at a table.
One of the many special features of the Monasterboice Inn is that they provide their own beef for the restaurant from their own herd of beef cattle so we would highly recommend their amazing steaks! They also feature lots of local produce across their menu and in 2018 the Monasterboice Inn was voted the “Best Customer Service in Louth 2018” by the Restaurant Association of Ireland, a well deserved accolade.
The Monasterboice Inn is reopening on the 2nd July and we cannot wait to enjoy their delicious food once more!

- Wednesday 9am till 7.30pm
- Thursday 9am till 7.30pm
- Friday 9am till 9pm
- Saturday 9am till 9pm
- Sunday 9am till 7.30pm
As per Government recommendations, they will be accommodating as many bookings as possible with social distancing measures in place, so please book in advance.
